Six die in road accident between Granada and Motril |

Along the stretch of the N323 which borders Velez de Benaudalla, connecting Granada and Motril , the increased traffic during the long holiday weekend took its toll. Three died instantly in a tragic head-on collision and record tail-backs were experienced in which two further people were seriously injured. In a virtual mirror-image of this road accident, another collision occurred along the same stretch of road, at Izbor, resulting in three more deaths and two serious injuries. These accidents have inspired the opposing political parties to protest about the slow speed at which the road network between Granada and the Costa Tropical is being upgraded. Just how many more will have to lose their lives in order to prove how inadequate the existing system is?
