Almuecar beaches should be regenerated |

So comes the cry from hotel owners across the town, who have banded together under the Asociación de Hoteleros de la Costa Tropical. They have recently approached the Almuñécar Town Hall proposing that the sand which has been excavated in order to make room for the two long awaited front line underground carparks in the town, should be put to good use.
20,000 cubic metres of sand
Some 20,000 cubic metres of sand has been removed from San Cristóbal and Velilla and this could make a real difference to the beaches along the Almuñécar coastline, as the winter weather has taken its toll in erosion through high seas and windy conditions. This regeneration would be perfect both for aesthetic reasons and for pure protection of the coastline, as the town prepares for the annual high season at Easter and during the summer months.
