Local and foreign residents participated in a referendum over the urban plan (PGOU). The question posed was whether the voter was in favour of the said plan produced by the Almuñécar Town Hall on 17th August 2005.
More than 6000 residents vote in Almuñécar
Approximately 32 percent of the registered population (6083 people in total) in Almuñécar actually took the trouble to vote at the referendum with some 77 percent of these individuals saying they were in favour of the much talked-about document. Despite the low participation levels, the town hall has reassured the press that this is quite a normal indicator for referenda. But then, they would, wouldn’t they?
