My villa in Canadas del Parque is almost finished (after 5 years) so id be curious to hear from anybody else who has either been through the same seemingly endless five year process as I have or anyone who can talk about about the things they love and don't love about the area!

I have always found Granada to be a wonderfully compact city with some of the sharpest contrasts - being ancient and modern, arab and european - I can think of. Its one of the reasons we've come back again and again. My wife and I haven't yet definitely decided to retire there but anticipate lengthy stretches in the villa to see how we get on. Love to hear from those who may have been through a similar process.

Welcome to the forum.

I think that it will be a while before it becomes an "thriving community" and there will probably be building activity for the next decade. But prices are good, and Granada is great! Also, be prepared to live in a holiday village. I think most people have bought to rent there but I might be wrong.
